Marina Bay Sands SkyPark
The Sands SkyPark (200 meters, 57 floors) sits atop three hotel towers at Marina Bay Sands (designed by Moshe Safdie, opened 2010). The cantilever extends 65 meters over the edge — the structure is genuinely remarkable. The Infinity Pool (hotel guests only) is the most famous view in Singapore. The SkyPark Observation Deck (S$23, book online) is open to the public. The best time is late afternoon: watch the sunset, watch the city lights turn on, and watch the Marina Bay Sands Light & Water Show (free, 8pm and 9:30pm every night).
Gardens by the Bay: Supertrees and Cloud Forest
The Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay is free to enter and most spectacular at night: 16 vertical gardens (25–50 meters) light up with a nightly garden rhapsody light show (8:45pm and 9:45pm, free). The OCBC Skyway (S$12) connects two Supertrees at 22 meters. The Cloud Forest (S$12, or S$20 combined with Flower Dome) has the world's tallest indoor waterfall (30 meters) inside a temperature-controlled biodome. The contrast between the tropical heat outside and the 23°C inside is part of the experience.
Mount Faber Peak
Mount Faber Peak (105 meters, accessible by cable car from HarbourFront or by a 45-minute forest walk) gives you views over the entire southern harbor, Sentosa, and the Southern Islands. The cable car (S$35 round trip) is the experience: you fly over the harbour, the container port, and the Keppel Bay islands. At the top: the Judai's (floating restaurant), the Faber Peak Bistro, and the Mount Faber Peak lookouts. Combined with the Sentosa Island cable car branch.
The Singapore Flyer (2012, 165 metres)
The Singapore Flyer (165 meters, opened 2012) was the world's tallest observation wheel until 2014. The 30-minute revolution gives you views from 45km out to sea on clear days. Book the Drinks Experience ticket (S$38): a prosecco and chocolates during the ride. The best time is late afternoon (sunset, 6–7pm depending on season). Combined with dinner at the Hawker Centre at One-30 (the former Clarke Quay, now relocated).
MacRitchie Reservoir and the TreeTop Walk
The TreeTop Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir is a 250-meter freestanding suspension bridge at 25 meters above the forest floor, connecting the two sides of the reservoir. The walk from the ranger station to the treetop and back is 11km (4–5 hours) or 7km (2–3 hours) via the shorter route. Free entry. Take the early morning slot (7am–9am) to avoid heat and see wildlife. The reservoir is in central Singapore — the contrast between the urban density and the forest is striking.
